This would have been the fourth year for the Ride to Rye, which is hugely well received. Sadly, due to COVID 19, the tour is not going ahead this year. Hopefully, we’ll be back on track soon, and planning our event for 2021.

Overnighting in a friendly hotel, as well as all the rest and refreshment stops along the way, provide the majority of participants with the perfect introduction to tour cycling. Our first stop, which is the legendary Frankies Farmshop, is now a regular stop for many of our members.
The route takes us through the villages of Kent and across the marshes to Rye. The 70 mile journey is expected to take around 7½ hours, including stops, which will give us plenty of time to enjoy the evening in Rye.
In our third year, we moved from The River Haven hotel in Rye, just down the road to The Lodge at Winchelsea, as they could no longer accommodate us. But the friendly staff and infinitely more suitable accommodation have proved worthy of the extra couple of miles, and one very steep hill.
After a good night’s rest, at The Lodge, and a leisurely breakfast, we begin the slightly shorter journey home. We’ll stop en-route for Sunday Lunch, and aim to arrive back at West Malling by before five o’clock on Sunday evening.
