We have a number of regular cycle routes in and around the West Malling area. Most of these routes begin and end at West Malling Cycles and cover a reasonably flat, 10 mile circuit, along the local country lanes.
These routes are aimed at nervous or novice riders and are used for the Social Sunday rides, which we offer as part of the British Cycling Let's Ride series.
Anyone can view these routes online and registered users can download them as GPX files for use in GPS devices.
Our Club Rides tend to be a little more adventurous than our Social Rides, although they're they're not really aimed at the more serious cyclists. Distances and the hills are generally more challenging but the rides themselves are done at a pace that suits those newer riders, wishing to challenge themselves. But they're still very much Social Rides and we always have the same 'No Drop' policy, so you'll never get left behing.
Because these routes are aimed at those looking to improve, you'll find even a slight increase in pace, makes them a lot more challenging, so they're perfect for testing yourself on a regular basis. If you're a Strava kind of rider, you can think of these routes as extended segments.
Paid members can view these routes online and download them as GPX files for use in GPS devices.
Every now and then, we go a little bit crazy and organise a much longer ride. It might be a ride out to a country pub, for a ploughman's lunch, or a two day adventure to Rye and back. It might even be off-road. But it will always have a familiar theme of a Social Ride.
As these routes tend to be created for one-off rides and may include elements that make them unsuitable for less experience cyclists to follow unaccompaied, we don't publish them here. But we do keep a record of them, so please ask if there's a particular route that has taken your interest.
